Eagle-eyed readers of TextNow Group Chat AKA our Company Blog (you’re reading it right now!) will have noticed we often sign off these articles with a link to our Careers page. We’re growing (or “scaling up” in tech-industry terms) by leaps and bounds, so we’re very pleased that many of you have clicked on that Careers link. One hundred-and-twenty of you to be precise.

This is all down to our Recruitment team and their very hard work over this past year, under the leadership of our VP of talent, Suzanne Salzberg.

Suzanne joined TextNow in January 2021 and jumped in both feet first. During her time, we’ve been able to focus on the bigger picture for finding the right individuals for open roles while formulating a commitment to EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) to create equal opportunities for all, including under-represented minority groups (For more details on our commitment to diversity, check out our Diversity Dashboard.)

Good thing too, as this was a transformational year for TextNow as we hit $100 million in revenue. Hence the aforementioned scaling up.

The Recruitment team uses Lever ATS to track our applicants and hires, and were able to share some of our success with them earlier this year So how did we do? Let’s look at some stats!

162 offers, with 123 hires YTD (not including 8 co-ops) with an incredible 75% acceptance rate.

in Q4 alone we had 52 offers, with 39 acceptances (17 of which were from under-represented minorities), maintaining our 76% acceptance rate.

At the leadership level, we managed to fill the roles of Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), plus a Vice President of People, Vice President of Finance and a Vice President of Data and Analytics, and 4 Senior Directors, just for good measure.

That breaks down to 4,276  (whew!) interview events, where an “interview event” is a face-to-face (or Zoom-to-Zoom) with a recruiter, hiring manager, or employee as part of someone interviewing at TextNow.

And one more stat for you: 200 employees have attended “Hiring at TextNow, Best Practices” interview training which gives our new employees guidance on how to interview, things to do and not to do.

And in between all of that we still found time to reopen our Waterloo HQ in August, our San Francisco office in July, and establish our WeWork offices in New York City in September, and in Seattle in July as well.

All of this in just one year! And as we continue to scale upwards and onwards, our Recruitment team doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

So if you want to join us at TextNow (and give the Recruitment team even more work), check out our Careers page, and while you’re here, poke around on this blog to find out more about who we are, what we’re working on, and all manner of TextNow tidbits and info.
